Tributes by leading newspapers and journals and by eminent personalities

For several days after passing away of Hazrat Babuji (R.A), newspapers and periodicals featured articles and poems etc. concerning his life and achievements. Radio Pakistan broadcast the impressions of distinguished persons about him. Even the All-India Radio aired special bulletin on his demise. Ulama and Mashaikh of all school (spiritual chains) personally visited Golra Sharif to offer their condolences. Shorish Kashmiri, well-known poet and writer and editor of the weekly journal “Chataan” (The Rock); published a digest of the statements made by eminent personalities on this occasion in the 30 July 1974 issue of his journal. The translation of those statements are reproduced below:

Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, then Prime Minister of Pakistan

Undoubtedly, his personality was spiritually sublime.

Mian Tufail Muhammad, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami

There was nothing but Islam in every nerve and tissue of his body.

Air Marshal (Retd.) Asghar Khan

He was the last representative of the old masters.

Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan

He was the perfect exemplar of the dervish outlook.

Mufti Mehmood, eminent scholar and then Member, National Assembly of Pakistan

He was the true legatee of leadership of the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) movement.

Malik Khizar Hayat Khan Tiwana

He was the Qutb of all Qutbs (Qutb-ul-Aqtaab – Doyen of spiritual leaders)

Khan Abdul Wali Khan, Member, National Assembly

His personality was a rare specimen of knowledge and piety.

His personality was a mirror of (divine) mercy.

Allama Abdul Aziz Khalid (well-known poet)

A glance at him was as if one had seen the mercy of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) (in concrete form).

He had the “colour” of Ali and the “aroma” of the Prophet (P.B.U.H).

For several weeks after passing away of Babuji (R.A), several thousand people were served with food after evening prayers every Thursday for the purpose of invocation of blessings on his soul. The "Chehlum" (fortieth-day ceremony) was held on 11 Rajab 1374 AH and on that day, too, many newspapers published special issues about Babuji's life and work.
